Suffering vs. reaping what we sow

I was just listening to this sermon by Mark Driscoll. He makes a great point which is that many times we think we’re suffering when really we’re simply reaping what we sow.

At a time of year when self-discipline often goes out the window — whether we eat to much, spend too much or do anything too much — I think it’s a great reminder. It is for me at least.

Brian and I just had a conversation yesterday about an area of my life in which I tend to lack self-discipline. I’m great at whining about it and generally having an attitude of “Why, God, aren’t you helping me out here!?!” But I was reminded this morning that sometimes there’s an easy way to see change: pulling a Nike, buckling down and just doing it.

Good word.

I like this thought…although I’m a little nervous to think about it in regards to my life….:)

I know. I said it but it doesn’t mean I like it. :)
