9 minutes and counting

January 7, 2009

Alright peeps, I’ve got nine minutes before the troops arise and attack me.

I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas and a fun New Year!  We enjoyed a visit from my sister and her family as well as my brother from the Naval Academy.  It was good to be together.

I’m looking forward to 2009.  “Looking forward” is the operative phrase.  I’m excellent at wallowing in the past, particularly the ways I’ve been an idiot, and then camping out in a pool of guilt and shame.  I need to turn over a new leaf.

6 minutes…

The last few months, I’ve been trying to incorporate exercise in my daily routine.  This amounts to getting up and out of bed by 4:30 am and getting myself to they gym to run on the treadmill.  I think it’s funny that I drive to the gym and then spend an hour running nowhere.  But that’s another story.

3 minutes…oh no!

Anyway, the TVs at the gym make me crazy (talk about system overload!), so I’ve been listening to sermons on my iPod.  I’m loving John Piper at Desiring God and Mark Driscoll at Mars Hill Church.  My latest listen is Redeeming Ruth.  It’s great!

Ah!  Time’s up.  Must publish NOW.

(I’m so proud of myself for doing that in 9 minutes.  Well, OK, 12 minutes.  But still.)
