A moment of fame for PW’s
March 30, 2007
I blogged the other day about being interviewed by so-and-so from such-and-such magazine. Well, What God Joined Together, an article about pastors’ wives by Lisa Takeuchi Cullen, is in the most recent edition of TIME Magazine. (You can read the article online here.)
So, if you’re here as a result of the article, welcome. Look around. Stay a while. If you’re a PW, you’ll probably be especially interested in the Pastors’ Wives Forum.
At first glance, it seems to me Lisa has painted a pretty accurate picture of life as a PW.
I’m pretty sure I’ll have more thoughts on the subject.
I just have to figure them out first.
As usual.
But enough about me. What did you think of the article?

Alright! That was a great article and presented several different resources for styles of PWery. That’s good. I like our forum and your style…common purpose yet the style is honest, comforting and supportive.
Thanks for the link to the article!

Yay for Amy! You did a great job “representing”!
I like the article. I think it could be a couple of more pages long but maybe that means a book is in order. It was good. I also like that she got into some of the reasons why we make friends online (your brainchild!). I liked it all but the end, I don’t like the way she ended that the ex-PW should become a pastor.

I thought this was very fair. I love that we are blazing the trail for PWs–that we don’t have to fit into some frilly mold! Ten years ago Time would have never written an article about this.

I’ve licensed parts of Lisa Cullen’s book, Remember Me, on my website, Otrib.com.
She’s an excellent writer and very funny.

I really enjoyed the article! The enemy wants you to think that you are the only one thinking that this and that you are all alone but it is great to hear that I am not alone. I cried to hear my thoughts and feelings expressed so vividly in that article. It is difficult yet so rewarding to be a PW. I was very excited to find this resource and you will be hearing a lot more from me. I need an outlet. Thanks.

Wow! I am writing as a result of the article. It is wonderful to know that there are other PW’s that don’t know exactly what they are “supposed” to be doing and don’t quite fit the mold. I was pleasantly surprised to see such an article in Time Magazine. It was definitely on target and provided a wealth of resources that I never knew existed.

Where can I chat online with other PWs? The article got me excited but I can’t find anything.
