It’s the Little Things
August 2, 2005
So I overheard the following conversation take place between my daughter (age 5) and son (age 2 1/2):
Daughter: Read this.
Son: (No answer—he’s apparently not interested in reading anything)
Daughter: READ THIS!
Son: (No response)
(Wordless argument ensues. Then finally…)
Daughter: Say you’re sorry.
Son: Sowee (apparently said without sufficient feeling and/or while looking in another direction)
Daughter: No, say sorry to me!
Son: (With complete sincerity) Sowee to me.
