Time Management

I recently read the book Making Room For Life by Randy Frazee and I’ve got to say, he has some helpful advice. Among other things, he talks about the Hebrew Day Planner. In a nutshell, this is a way of structuring your time like the ancient Hebrews did or like present-day bedouins do.
Without the “blessing” of electricity and other modern conveniences (and not-so-conveniences), the Hebrews lived their lives according to natural day cycles. This means they got up with the sun, worked while it was daylight, quit working when it got dark, spent an extended period of time each evening eating & relaxing with their family & friends and then went to bed at a decent hour. Life was like this each day, six days a week and the seventh day was reserved for rest. It sounded a lot like something I read in Genesis 1 once (go figure) so I decided that if it was good enough for God then it’s good enough for me.
So I’ve adopted the HDP (Hebrew Day Planner), albeit a slightly modified version, and I like it quite a bit. There’s something very simple and appealing about it. Life is surprisingly more smooth-sailing than before.
Hey, read the book to get all the details–Frazee offers a lot of practical advice–and then join me in making room for life.
Have a wonderful Memorial Day.
